AIMS
- Aims to “promote and facilitate the development of environmentally friendly products”
- It is composed of two introductory sheets followed by 18 others, to be used in five chronological stages: “Scope and stakes”, “Initial environmental assessment”, “Solution search”, “Evaluation of solutions”, “Results and communication”.
HOW TO USE THE TOOL
- Analyse Expectations and environmental requirements for a certain product.
- Make a life cycle analyse of reference product
- Make a qualitative analyse of the environmental issues
- Identification and prioritization of aspects and impacts – qualitative
- Record the main environmental issues before design/redesign
- Presents the different design choices considered by stage of the life cycle as well as the source of the solution.
- Compare solutions according to environmental indicators (ES1)
- Make decisions of two solutions
- Visualization of the environmental consequence of design choices (ES3)
RESULTS
With the toolkit, it is possible to make qualitative evaluation of concepts, Compare different solutions, Visualise the environmental improvement of a concept.
