2014, United Kingdom | Produced by Layer Design
The Ripple table employs an innovative process that employs 3mm corrugated plywood to provide a massive strength-to-weight ratio. The laminated construction is made of birch plywood, which saves 70-80% of the material used (and thus has a lower environmental impact) when compared to a standard timber table. The legs are constructed from two (or three) layers of corrugated plywood. The Ripple Table received numerous design awards, including Best Sustainable Design British Design Awards.

GUIDELINE
Use reinforcing structures such as ribbed/honeycombed (e.g. for tabletop) structures or T-sections, hollow shapes (for rotationally moulded plastics and die-cast metals) to improve stiffness and avoid distortions
